Teyiette and the devil BP#2

In the story of Tetiyette and the devil there is a teenage girl that is beautiful and is open to be married by any boys or mans on the island. There were several men who tried to marry her but she was very hard to satisfied. Several of them she compared them to Goats and Pigs and she only seems to see them as ugly animals. Sooner or later the devil himself all dressed in gold and wealth show up and she was all over him. This show that this girl feel that appearances is more important then the man personality.

In the story the mother did warn her daughter of the dangers of her new husband but she didn't seem to care since he looks very handsome to her and she married him on the spot. However she soon realized how dangerous her husband actually is since he started to eat her. She scared for help from her father to which her father said I don't give a damn i warned you. That show that her father knew he was a bad man but his daughter didn't listen to him. He then scared to her mother to her save her from the devil and she too said the same as her father

Her Brother soon heard the cries for help from his sister which he goes to wake up both his mother and father to help his sister which they replied with the same thing. "I don't give a damn I warned her" He soon grabbed the sharpest knife from the kitchen and came to the devil and cut his stomach open and came out his sister. The message this gave us is that despite siblings not liking each other they will always try to save their love ones.

I feel that the purpose of this story is to show that just because a man or women is beautiful and handsome from their appearance doesn't mean they are beautiful on the inside. As i can see from many good examples there are many times where I've seen people dating someone who they though were the one and then they founded out that they are the worst
