In both the story of Little Cog-Bert and Cotton Candy they both have ideas both similar and different from each other. In Little Cog-Bert, Cog-Bert a little boy in the house was seen as a very weak and strange boy. This boy seems to look like a skeleton to compared to the many other kids. In the story he seems to be the kid who is usually left out of gatherings and special event since he seems to look very frail and very shy. He looked different from the kids and the women from England don't like him at all. She always complained about having to give gifts to the dark children since her own is in England going to primary school and won't be able to receive gifts. Soon they began giving gifts to the children. At first the lady wasn't too exited to see them until they got their gifts. She soon started to love them since they had shown how thankful they are when they had received their gifts. However when Little Cog-Bert came to get his gift it didn't want it. Until the lady finally decided to give them the angel on the tree that has her own hair on top of it. Then Little Cog-Bert accepted it and was happy and the lady who at first didn't like the "dark children" soon loved them.

In the Story "Cotton Candy", Lula is a girl who always wanted to be loved by someone, but was unable to. She was a young girl who always wanted to be able to date someone. At the beginning of the story she saw a butterfly flying and it was very important to this story since the butterfly represents how the girl feel. She always wanted to be free to do what she wanted. However with her over bearing mother never let her love anyone. It got so bad to the point where she ran away from home and was off to find love. Now she has a job as a cotton candy vendor given to her from the government and she is very old at that time. She then saw an old man and she through he was the most beautiful person in the world despite the fact that he is an old man. This shown us that she always wanted to be able to love someone despite the way they looks and their age.
